Letter: Heckling during speech shows lack of class, empathy

Mar 5, 2022

My wife and I thought President Biden did a very nice job on his State of the Union address to the nation Tuesday night. It’s too bad that two female congress women decided to show their lack of class and disrespect to the president by heckling him during his speech, especially when he was talking about his late son, Beau Biden, who died of cancer. However, they got their just dues when some members of Congress booed them. Some commentary on TV after the speech was that one of President Biden’s good traits was his empathy for others. It is unfortunate that too many of our leaders and the general public are lacking that trait.
