As we begin the new year, I want to take a moment to show my appreciation to the ones that work tirelessly behind the scenes making the world a better place and say thank you to those heroes that gave me the chance to enjoy this beautiful morning of Jan. 1.
Back in September, I was rushed into the ER at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden clinging to life. This moment was the start of a four-day ICU visit followed by four days in the recovery. From the moment of my arrival the doctors, nurses and all the staff treated me with the highest level of professionalism, and compassion, never wavering from their commitment to the highest quality of care.
From what I have been told by my family and friends, I wasn’t the easiest patient to deal with. In fact, some of them say I was straight up a pain in the you know what.
To all the doctors, nurses, nursing students and staff, your dedication, commitment and knowledge saved my life. It gave me the opportunity tell the people in my life how much I love them and hug them a little while longer. It gave me the opportunity to apologize for the things I’ve done wrong and ask forgiveness for my mistakes. It has made me more aware that we are all living on borrowed time and to never take even the smallest moments for granted.
Thank You McKay-Dee you your dedication and commitment to the community.
