A Herriman man has been charged with seven counts of bank robbery by force or violence after his arrest by FBI task force agents last week.

During the investigation, police referred to the robber as the “Band-Aid bandit” because he was seen wearing small bandages on his fingers during the holdups.

Cody Michael Jensen, 32, is accused of robbing credit unions inside grocery stores from December 2019 through August 2020, twice each in Lehi, West Jordan and Salt Lake City and once in Kaysville.

According to Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office records, Jensen was arrested Aug. 19 and booked into jail under the custody of the U.S. Marshals’ Office.

The FBI said in a news release Monday that the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force was helped in the investigation by the Lehi, Kaysville and West Jordan police departments.

In the Kaysville incident, at 5:57 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2020, a man robbed the America First Credit Union inside Bowman’s Market, 326 N. Main St.

The FBI said the man gave a note saying he had a weapon but none was visible. The same scenario fit the six other robberies.

A bank robbery conviction could draw a penalty of up to 20 years in prison under federal law.

Jensen had no attorney of record as of Tuesday, according to U.S. District Court records.
