LAYTON — A Layton teenager was found safe Wednesday and a suspect in his alleged kidnapping has been arrested.

The Layton Police Department said in a social media post early Wednesday that Evan McConney, 13, and the suspect, identified as Aaron Zeman of Arizona, were found in a car at a gas station in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Police issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday afternoon that said the teen left his parents’ home to meet Zeman and that his life may be in danger. Lt. Travis Lyman, police spokesperson, said the man had been communicating with the teen on electronic devices.

Zeman has used aliases and a different name was reported when police put out the Amber Alert.

Police said they were working to return the teenager to his family.
