OGDEN — Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday arrested a Weber County man on allegations that he sexually abused two girls, one more than a decade ago and the other in recent years.

Justin Dean Barrow, 53, was booked into the Weber County Jail on allegations of rape of a child, aggravated sex abuse of a child and sodomy on a child, according to charging documents by the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began on Dec. 6, 2022, when a woman came forward to report that she had had persistent nightmares of being raped when she was about 8 years old, in 2006-7. She told sheriff’s deputies that she had reported the dreams to several people and therapists. She eventually concluded that “the dreams were not dreams and were actually memories.”

In a subsequent sheriff’s office interview on Jan. 23, the women identified Barrow as the alleged perpetrator.

During the investigation, deputies on Thursday interviewed a teenager who reported having been sexually assaulted, allegedly by Barrow, from the ages of 10 or 11 to 15, until 2022, according to charging documents.

Barrow was ordered held without bail after deputies said in charging documents that he had threatened suicide, that he had removed several firearms from his home in recent days and that he had property in another state — potentially making him a risk to flee before trial.

Barrow did not have an attorney of record as of mid-day Monday.
