LAYTON — A woman died in a three-vehicle crash Saturday night in Layton, police said.

The woman, identified as Ashley Walker, 32, of Layton, was speeding south on Main Street near Angel Street at about 9 p.m., said Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman.

"We don't know how fast, but really fast," Lyman said Monday.

Her car clipped a southbound pickup truck, causing the truck to spin and crash, Lyman said. The woman's car then spun into the northbound lanes, colliding with a third vehicle.

The woman was dead at the scene and two people in the northbound car were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The pickup's driver was not injured.

"It looks like it was just a situation of driving fast," Lyman said. "She changed lanes erratically and it caused this chain reaction."
