HOOPER -- A Hooper City employee drowned Saturday afternoon after falling into a sewer pipe. 

At 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, emergency personnel responded to a reported drowning in Hooper, according to a news release from the Weber County Sheriff's Office.

A city employee had been working on the sewer system when he fell head first into a pipe, according to the news release. A co-worker wasn't able to pull him out and called 911 for help. 

The man was found found dead on arrival, police said. 

The incident is still under investigation and the man's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
