OGDEN — A 17-year-old boy is dead after an ATV crash on Saturday afternoon in Ogden.

Police were dispatched to the scene of a crash near the 1000 block of Canfield Drive at 12:24 p.m. in Ogden and found two injured teens, according to a press release from the Ogden Police Department.

Officers found that a Polaris ATV had crashed into a tree and ejected both teens from the vehicle.

One teen was taken to the hospital with “severe” head injuries and later died at the hospital, according to police. The teen has been identified as 17-year-old Juan Carlos Vazquez Ixtlahuaca.

The other teen reportedly had a hand injury and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Neither of the two teens were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, police reported.
