Syracuse police patch

 

SYRACUSE — Police booked a male juvenile into Farmington Bay Youth Center after he allegedly brandished a knife and set a fire near a dumpster at Syracuse High School Wednesday, Nov. 8.

According to a press release from the Syracuse Police Department, a male walked into Syracuse High at approximately 8:30 p.m. wearing a bandana that covered his face. The male was asked to leave the school when he “brandished a knife and then promptly left the school.”

When police arrived, a fire had been started near a dumpster behind the school. Fire crews put out the fire immediately. No injuries were reported. 

According to the release, students attending after-school activities were escorted out of the school by police officers while a search was conducted. 

The juvenile was later identified and taken into custody. Police booked the juvenile on charges of aggravated assault, arson and criminal trespass.
