OGDEN — One man is dead after being hit by a car Tuesday morning on Wall Avenue.

At 5:45 a.m., Ogden Police Department responded to an auto-pedestrian crash at Wall Avenue and 25th Street in Ogden.

A 67-year-old man was lying in the southbound lanes of Wall Avenue when police arrived, OPD Lt. Clint Christensen said. He was declared dead at the scene.

Witnesses told police that the man was walking westbound across Wall Avenue while a “do not walk” sign was displayed and was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling southbound on a green light, Christensen said.

Christensen said there was “nothing suspicious” about the driver of the vehicle and that alcohol was not involved.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man, pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation is on-going.
