A Kaysville man has set a new record for marathons run in the state of Utah.

Jason Lynch completed the Huntsville Marathon on Saturday with a time of 2:13:05, the marathon reports. This topped the former Utah best of 2:14:44 set in 2017 by Aaron Fletcher at the St. George Marathon.

The Huntsville Marathon is run in and around the country roads of Huntsville in the Ogden Valley. Race officials reported cool temperatures and a light, morning rain set the stage for fast times as the sky cleared to sunshine for the 10th edition.

Ashley Paulson of St. George won the women’s side with a time of 2:44:14.

In the half marathon, Uintah woman Hannah Stedge took first at 1:26:05. Mason Frank, of Aurora, Colorado, won the men’s side with a new course record of 1:05:05.

Ogden couple Adam and Jackie Hendrickson teamed up to set new course records in the 10K. Adam ran 34:44 and Jackie 35:36.

Layton’s Brandon Kirby won the men’s 5K with a time of 21:15 and Orem woman Avery Walker tied the course record at 19:46.
