PROVO — Another Kaufusi will play two sports at Brigham Young University.

Corbin Kaufusi will play both football and basketball at BYU during the 2016-17 season, according to a statement from the school. His older brother, Bronson, graduated Thursday after playing four seasons of football and one season of basketball at BYU.

Corbin, a 6-foot-10, 255-pound forward, originally signed to play football for the Cougars before he left on his LDS mission, the statement said. After returning from his mission, he decided to play basketball.

In his first two seasons with the basketball team, he played in 70 games and started 36. He averaged 4.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. He also shot 59.6 percent from the field.

In high school, he helped Timpview win two Utah state titles and was selected second-team all-state his senior year.

Kaufusi will be classified as a sophomore in football and a junior in basketball, the school said.
