LAYTON — With time ticking toward a shootout, Davis High girls soccer claimed a 1-0 victory Tuesday over Layton to knock the Lancers (5-3, 3-1 Region 1) out of the unbeaten ranks in Region 1 when Rachel Bodkin punched in a penalty kick in the second period of extra time.

Taygan Sill kept the shutout for Davis (6-1, 4-0).

BONNEVILLE def. VIEWMONT (SO)

BOUNTIFUL — After a 2-2 draw through regulation and extra time, Bonneville outshot Viewmont 6-5 in penalty kicks as Ellie Scholer denied the final Viking shot to send the Lakers to a region road win.

Riley Lopez and Sadie Beardall netted in the first half for Bonneville (7-2, 3-0 Region 5). Gabby Carlson and Riley Lopez assisted.

Viewmont (4-5, 1-2) did not report stats.

WEBER 2, OGDEN 1 (2OT)

OGDEN — Savannah Funk netted the golden goal in the 98th minute to send Weber to an extra-time win at Ogden.

Josie Maughan scored in the 76th minute to get Weber (3-5) on the board.

Sae Obayashi scored the equalizer in the 79th minute for Ogden (3-3).

SYRACUSE 5, FREMONT 1

SYRACUSE — Abby Schofield tallied a hat trick as Syracuse beat Fremont.

Cortney Cobabe had two goals and two assists for Syracuse (7-2, 4-0 Region 1). Abby Affleck also assisted two scores.

Brooklyn Robinson scored in the second half for Fremont (6-2, 2-2).

ROY 7, CYPRUS 0

MAGNA — Kasia Greely and Jaelyn Barba each scored a brace as Roy won at Cyprus (0-8, 0-5 Region 2).

Lylian Rosenberg kept the clean sheet for Roy (5-4, 5-0). Macy Reed, Essence Burrus and Kambrie Buttars each netted once.

ROWLAND HALL 7, ST. JOSEPH 0

OGDEN — St. Joseph (3-2, 0-1 Region 17) trailed 4-0 at the half in a region loss to Rowland Hall (2-3, 0-1).

SALT LAKE CITY — Bonneville grabbed a four-set win at East: 25-13, 24-26, 25-19, 25-22.

Kelsie Heslop paced Bonneville (3-5) with 16 kills and eight digs. Hannah Mickelsen tallied eight digs, six kills and four aces. Peighton Summers added 34 assists, eight digs and three kills.

LCA 3, ST. JOSEPH 0

LAYTON — Layton Christian Academy swept St. Joseph by scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-16.

Duru Akbas led Layton Christian (1-0) with 20 digs, 11 kills and five aces. Lily McGuckin added eight aces and 37 assists. Mariana Said had 16 kills and five blocks.

HYRUM — Ogden fell at Mountain Crest in straight sets: 26-24, 25-14, 25-23.

Soledad VanOrden paced Ogden (2-5) with six kills, five digs, and one ace. Megan Aardema had four digs and 25 assists, Rees Bockwoldt tallied 10 kills and Olivia Blackford added 16 digs.

Bonneville’s Max Togisala shot a 63 to claim individual medalist of the match. His teammate Parker Bunn shot a 69 for second. Viewmont’s Luke Gardner tied for fourth with a 73.
