Georgia Tech University men’s golfer Connor Howe, a Weber High alumnus, shot 15-under-par to win a big golf tournament last week in Arizona.

Howe won The Patriot All-America tournament on Friday with a three-day score of 195, helped by consecutive rounds of 4-under-par 66 before a searing 7-under 63 in the third round.

In his third round, Howe played the front nine even-par before making an eagle on the 10th hole and birdies on Nos. 12, 13, 15 and 16.

Howe won the 54-hole, three-round tournament over a field of dozens of other Division I golfers and won by three shots over Notre Dame’s Jackson Palmer. Howe is listed as a junior at Georgia Tech who’s majoring in business administration. In the spring, he qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

For the 6A classification, the top 24 seeds qualify for the playoffs. Of note, Region 1 games begin Tuesday, with the rest of the regions starting region games later this month.
