Prep basketball roundup: Bonneville, Davis boys remain unbeaten in region play

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville High boys basketball made 11 3-pointers and erased a 34-26 halftime deficit in a close victory over Viewmont, winning 67-62 on Friday night.

Carson Jones and Bo Dixon co-led Bonneville (12-2, 3-0 Region 5) with 16 points each. Dixon made four 3-pointers. Koy Dixon made four 3-pointers and had 13 points, while Jake Williams hit three treys and scored 11 points.

Zach Robison scored 25 points for Viewmont (5-10, 0-2) to lead all scorers and Radek Pulsipher scored 21.

DAVIS 68, CLEARFIELD 26

KAYSVILLE — Davis hammered Clearfield 28-2 in the first quarter, and led 42-7 at halftime, to remain undefeated.

Davis (16-0, 5-0 Region 1) hit 14 3-pointers. Colby Sims made four on the way to 17 points, Sawyer Cotrell hit three 3-pointers, scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Tate Garff hit three treys for nine points, adding six rebounds. Rex Sunderland added 12 points, five assists and three steals.

Lincoln Church led Clearfield (3-11, 2-3) with nine points. Dawson Gardner totaled four points, six rebounds and two steals, and Braylen Carlson added four points and five rebounds.

SYRACUSE 55, FREMONT 50 (OT)

PLAIN CITY — Syracuse and Fremont were tied 18-18 at the half and 44-44 after the fourth quarter, then the Titans outscored the Silverwolves 11-6 in overtime for the win.

Brock Williams scored a game-high 17 points with three 3-pointers for Syracuse (5-9, 2-3 Region 1). Kaden Ericksen tallied 16 points and Brevin Hamblin added 10.

Braden Flinders led Fremont (6-6, 1-3) with 16 points. Hunter Hansen scored 13 points while Treyden Hoggan and Christian Blanch each added six.

BOX ELDER 72, BOUNTIFUL 67 (2OT)

BOUNTIFUL — Elijah Kersey scored 10 points across two overtime periods — including 5 of 6 from the foul line — to lead Box Elder to a win at Bountiful.

Jackson McKee scored 16 points to lead Box Elder (9-5, 1-1 Region 5). Matthew Low added 15 points and three 3-pointers. Kersey totaled 14 points and Cole Mortensen netted 10. The Bees shot 9 of 10 from the charity stripe in extra time.

Sam Stevenson led all scorers with 17 points with three 3-pointers for Bountiful (5-8, 0-2). Carson Smith scored 13 points, Danny Holland tallied 12 and Tavin Russell added 11. The Redhawks had an opportunity to win at the end of regulation and the first overtime with a made free throw, but missed both.

FARMINGTON 35, WEBER 19

PLEASANT VIEW — Weber led 8-6 after the first quarter, then Farmington outscored the Warriors 24-7 across the second and third frames for a road win.

Talin Simpson led all scorers wint 10 points for Farmington (6-7, 2-3 Region 1). Victoria Clinger tallied eight and Delaney Baker scored seven points.

Katelynn Butler led Weber (4-11, 1-5) with five points and Abby Sayer scored four.

DAVIS 61, CLEARFIELD 31

CLEARFIELD — Davis ran out to an 18-2 lead after one quarter in a region win at Clearfield.

Kendra Kitchen scored a game-high 19 points for Davis (13-1, 5-0 Region 1). Kylee Mabry added 15 points and Taylor Leavitt tallied 11 points with three 3-pointers.

Haylie Robbins led Clearfield (0-14, 0-5) with nine points and two 3-pointers. Brooklyn Hawks added seven points.

VIEWMONT 47, BONNEVILLE 35

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville led 22-19 at the half, then Viewmont took the lead in the third and outscored the Lakers 17-6 in the final frame for the win.

Emma Mulitalo led all scorers with 20 points for Viewmont (5-10, 2-0 Region 5) on two 3-pointers and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. Grace Mackay scored 17 points with two treys.

Courtnie Porter led Bonneville (4-12, 1-3) with nine points and Libby Jensen scored five.

BOUNTIFUL 57, BOX ELDER 49

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful outscored Box Elder 19-6 in the fourth quarter. Taylor Harvey led Bountiful (10-3, 2-0 Region 5) with 21 points and shot 6 for 7 from the free throw line. Riley Johnson scored 11 points and Lizzy McConkie added 10 for the Redhawks.

Tegan Mecham led Box Elder (8-6, 1-1) with 10 points, Brianna Roberts added nine and Ashlyn Reeder scored eight.

WOODS CROSS 36, NORTHRIDGE 23

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross led 22-14 at the half in a region win over Northridge.

Georgia Halton led all scorers with 11 points for Woods Cross (9-4, 1-1 Region 5). Sofia Mokofisi added nine points and Kenna Cowley scored eight.

Karlee Mayfield scored eight points for Northridge (7-7, 1-2) and Kenadee Thomas tallied seven.

GRANGER 39, ROY 29

WEST VALLEY CITY — Roy trailed 26-24 after three quarters, but was outscored 13-5 in the final frame in a road loss at Granger (5-8, 3-2 Region 2).

Sha’Kyra Joiner led Roy (4-10, 0-4) with 14 points, nine of which came from the free-throw line in 13 attempts. Nicole WIlliams scored 10 points.
