In the first game, the Royals (5-6, 4-2 Region 2) broke open a 2-2 tie with a seven-run fourth inning. Samuel Smith hit a homer and a double.

Justin Miller pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up two earned runs, struck out six and batted 3 for 4. Taysen Headley, Cameron Baty and Tyler Clark had two base hits each.

In the second game, Samuel Smith batted 4 for 5 with four RBIs, two doubles and pitched a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.

Wyatt Kline hit 2 for 5 with a triple and four RBIs. Baty went 2 for 2, Miller batted 3 for 4 and Clark hit 2 for 3. Keldon Venstra pitched four innings with two runs allowed and nine strikeouts.

KAYSVILLE — Landon Salvesen pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts and Fremont clinched a series win over Davis.

Garet Jones batted 2 for 3 with one RBI for Fremont (10-3, 7-1 Region 1) and Karston Jamison hit 2 for 4 with a double and one RBI. Logan Penland went 1 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and a walk.

Kaleb Weaver batted 3 for 4 with a double and one RBI for Davis (3-8, 3-2). Max Hunter hit 2 for 4 with a double and JC Warnick hit a triple.

SYRACUSE 6, CLEARFIELD 0

SYRACUSE — Jaden Keblis needed just 88 pitches to toss a one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and two walks, leading Syracuse past Clearfield.

Austin Burton batted 3 for 3 with a double for Syracuse (5-8, 4-4 Region 1) and Jake Hopkins had two RBIs. Kyson Curtis doubled.

Kaden Coleman had Clearfield’s (2-9, 0-5) hit and Cody Brockman stole a base.

LAYTON 6, FARMINGTON 2

LAYTON — Aiden Sampson pitched a complete game and helped Layton clinch a series win over Farmington.

Sampson gave up four hits, one earned run and struck out five for Layton (6-5, 6-2 Region 1). Emilio Cedeño drove in two runs. The Lancers scored six runs on four hits, four walks, five hit batters and one who reached on an error.

Easton Wight batted 2 for 4 with one RBI for Farmington (5-7, 4-4). Beckham Smith walked in all three plate appearances.

MORGAN 21, BEN LOMOND 1

MORGAN — Trevor DeWitt struck out nine batters in a five-inning region win for Morgan, its first win of the year.

DeWitt had three RBIs and batted 3 for 4, Ben Harden had five RBIs and Gabriel Jensen drove in three for Morgan (1-12, 1-3 Region 13).

Max Doss hit 1 for 3 with one RBI for Ben Lomond (1-6, 0-3).

FARMINGTON — Carter Archuleta scored right before halftime as Weber beat Farmington (5-2, 4-2 Region 1).

Luke Pack assisted Weber’s (2-4, 2-3) goal. Mason Pocus kept the clean sheet in goal.

FREMONT 6, SYRACUSE 3

SYRACUSE — Blaike Wayment and Naime Odeh scored two goals each to lead Fremont (8-2, 4-2 Region 1) past Syracuse.

Braxton Laughter and Tyler Ware added goals for the Silverwolves. Amir Odeh assisted two goals. Wayment and Ryker Saunders assisted one.

LOGAN — Ten Weber players got a base hit and the Warriors (6-1) scored in six different innings.

Olivia Boswell batted 4 for 4 and pitched three no-hit innings, walking six and allowing two earned runs.

Kendall Strasburg hit 3 for 3 with four RBIs and a homer. Hadley Howell hit two doubles with six RBIs. Morgan Dixon hit 2 for 3.

SALT LAKE CITY — Ivee Johnsen pitched a complete game and struck out 10 batters in Fremont’s (6-3) nonregion win.

Keysha McKean and Audrey Cooper hit home runs. Cooper batted 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Gracee Garritson hit two doubles and drove in two runs.

BEAR RIVER 7, BOX ELDER 2

GARLAND — Kate Dahle struck out eight in a complete-game win for Bear River (10-2).

Bella Douglas hit two home runs, batted 3 for 3 and had five RBIs. Aubree Fry hit a triple.

Justy Pritchard batted 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI for Box Elder (7-3). Ashley Hammers pitched three innings and allowed one run.

LAYTON — On Saturday, Kendall Strasburg batted 4 for 5 with three RBIs, one home run and pitched the complete game with 11 strikeouts in a win for Weber.

Courtney Christiansen went 5 for 5 with a triple for Farmington (5-2, 4-1 Region 1). Lexi Crowley hit three doubles and had three RBIs.
