Prep basketball roundup: Box Elder survives against Bonneville, Northridge beats Viewmont
BRIGHAM CITY — Jackson McKee scored 17 of his 29 points in the second half to help Box Elder High boys basketball rally past Bonneville 55-54 on Wednesday night.
McKee scored 13 in a third quarter that Box Elder (12-6, 5-2 Region 5) used to turn a 26-23 halftime deficit into a 44-44 tie headed into a tight fourth quarter. Elijah Kersey added 13 points.
Nate Burdett led Bonneville (6-12, 2-5) with 23 points on four 3-pointers. Judd Fawbush chipped in 12 points. The Lakers missed a potential game-winning shot in the game’s final seconds.
NORTHRIDGE 56, VIEWMONT 45
BOUNTIFUL — Caden Christensen scored 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from downtown as Northridge built a 32-20 halftime lead on the way to a region win.
Logan Birt scored 15 points for Northridge (8-10, 3-4 Region 5). Bentley Whitear totaled five points, six rebounds and four assists, and Christensen added five rebounds.
Viewmont (6-14, 1-6) got 13 points and 11 rebounds from Scott Noel. Drez Jensen also scored 13 points. Mitch Jeppesen totaled four points, five rebounds and three assists.
APA-WV 60, ST. JOSEPH 50
OGDEN — St. Joseph battled at home but fell to region-leading American Prep Academy-West Valley.
Tyler Arroyo scored 18 points for St. Joseph (7-13, 3-6 Region 17). Gideon Burnham added 15 points.
