NORTH LOGAN — Cole Demille ran for a 55-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter to cap a 21-point, second-half comeback as Bonneville (1-1) football beat Green Canyon on the road 35-28 after trailing 28-14 in the third quarter Friday.
Ryker Jensen forced a fumble in the fourth quarter as the Wolves were driving in the red zone. Bonneville took over possession and marched 80 yards down the field to score.
BOX ELDER 29, BEAR RIVER 7
BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder won the battle for the Golden Spike by defeating cross-county rival Bear River at home in the 98th edition of the game.
Box Elder (2-0) scored on a Trent Dickson 38-yard run, a Bernard Pena 2-yard run, a Keaton Lamb field goal, a 27-yard pass from Parker Buchanan to Conner Stevenson and a Skyler Laurenti 32-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Bear River (1-1) scored in the second quarter on a 12-yard pass from Bradey Brown to Braxton Jeppson.
LAYTON 31, BRIGHTON 17
LAYTON — Layton football snapped a 13-game losing skid dating back to October 2016 with a home victory over Brighton.
Layton (1-1) fell behind 7-0 early but rallied, led by three Nate Atkinson touchdowns. The junior caught a 22-yard scoring pass from Landon Brandt and had a pair of scoring runs of more than 50 yards in the fourth quarter.
Caden Winn also found the end zone for the Lancers.
OGDEN 48, ENTERPRISE 20
ENTERPRISE — Ogden (2-0) took a 34-8 lead into halftime in a big win at 2A Enterprise.
Bo Devries tossed four touchdown passes while throwing 10 of 14 for 335 yards. Two TDs went to Chase Butler for 70 and 50 yards, two went to Irving Gastelum for 70 and 61 yards.
Rhyle Hanson had touchdown runs of 32 and 13 yards for a total of 113 rushing yards. Gastelum had 137 receiving yards and also returned an interception 60 yards for a score. Logan Shobe blocked a punt.
Enterprise punched in a pair of late touchdowns.
DAVIS 14, VIEWMONT 12
BOUNTIFUL — Davis scored a pair of second-quarter touchdowns and made them hold up when a late Viewmont two-point conversion was no good.
Chase Potter blocked a Viewmont punt and Alex Foster recovered to score, putting Davis (2-0) on the board. Spencer Ferguson later dashed in from 24 yards out to give Davis a 14-0 lead at halftime.
Gabe Johnson kicked field goals of 33 and 23 yards for Viewmont (1-1) in the third quarter. With 4:32 left, Viewmont’s Dutcher Lines hit Will Carter for a 81-yard touchdown but the pair couldn’t connect on a two-point pass attempt to tie it.
Viewmont outgained Davis 315 to 197. Garrett Larson threw 15 of 26 for 166 yards for Davis. Lines threw for 190 yards and Robert Summerhays rushed for 94 yards for Viewmont.
BOUNTIFUL 33, HUNTER 22
BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful took a 33-14 lead in the third quarter on the way to new coach Tyler Hughes’ first win as a Brave.
Josh Welling scored rushing touchdowns of five yards, four yards and five yards for Bountiful (1-1). Hudson Gallagher caught a 7-yard pass from Zach Riordan, and Parker Nicoll returned an interception 50 yards for a score.
Hunter scored on three touchdown passes and a safety.
CLEARFIELD 55, COTTONWOOD 21
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — Clearfield (1-1) led 27-21 at the half and outscored Cottonwood 28-0 after the break in the road win. Requests for more information were not answered by press time.
HERRIMAN 28, SYRACUSE 14
HERRIMAN — Herriman ran out to a 28-0 lead in the third quarter and handed Syracuse a road loss.
Syracuse (0-2) got two late touchdown passes from Teagun Arnold to Ty Burke and Tanner Judd.
PLEASANT GROVE 43, FREMONT 22
PLEASANT GROVE — Fremont benefited from three long touchdown passes but couldn’t recover after Pleasant Grove put up 22 points in the second quarter.
Mitch Stratford threw TD scores to Calvin Peterson of 63 and 25 yards, then a fourth-quarter strike of 52 yards to Jaxon Whitney for Fremont (1-1).
Pleasant Grove led 36-7 at halftime.
ALTA 42, WOODS CROSS 14
WOODS CROSS — Alta forced five Wildcat turnovers in the first half and took a 28-7 halftime lead on the way to the win at Woods Cross.
The Wildcats (1-1) used a 5-yard pass from Carston Naegle to Tucker Goodfellow to tie the game at 7-7, only to see the Hawks score five consecutive touchdowns.
Naegle and Goodfellow connected again for a 60-yard score late in the fourth quarter.
COPPER HILLS 22, BEN LOMOND 10
WEST JORDAN — Ben Lomond (0-2) led 10-3 after the first quarter but Copper Hills scored 18 unanswered points to send the Scots to defeat.
SOUTH SUMMIT 20, MORGAN 14
MORGAN — Morgan (1-1) scored two touchdowns in the second half and held South Summit scoreless after the break, but couldn’t overcome a 20-0 halftime deficit in the home loss.
AMERICAN LEADERSHIP 49, LAYTON CHRISTIAN 25
LAYTON — Layton Christian (1-1) gave up four American Leadership touchdown passes in the first half and dropped its first home game of the season.
Dustin Moffo had an 80-yard touchdown sprint to tie the game with 6:46 left in the first quarter. Colter Wheelwright later picked off ALA quarterback Jacob Negus and returned the interception 59 yards to the end zone, but LCA trailed 28-13 at halftime.
Moffo scored on runs of 55 yards and 35 yards in the second half. ALA added two more scores when play resumed following a second-half lightning delay.

OGDEN — Ben Lomond took a 3-0 halftime lead on the way to the shutout at St. Joseph.

LAYTON — Layton scored three goals in the first half and shut out Herriman.
Kaitlyn Richins, Sydnee Elmore and Atley Thompson scored for the Lancers. Brynlee Roberts assisted on the Richins goal.
Meg Edwards got the shutout in goal, with help from defenders Abby Fotheringham, Alex Checketts, Kylee Richins and Aubrey Williams.
