Fourteen more Northern Utah prep student athletes signed to play college sports in the NCAA early signing period, which began last week.


Weber High midfielder Camryn Karras plans to sign with the Air Force Academy. Karras, who verbally committed to AFA earlier this year, led the Warriors with 10 goals this season.

Davis High defender Olivia Romney signed with Utah State. Romney captained a Darts defense that allowed an average of 0.95 goals per game, helping Davis to the 6A state semifinals.

Box Elder’s Mylan Daniels plans to sign with Seattle University in the Western Athletic Conference for soccer. Daniels scored five goals for the Bees, who finished in third place in Region 5 this year.

Jillian Nelson, a Judge Memorial Catholic soccer player who lives in Layton, signed with D-II Fort Lewis College (Colorado). Nelson was scored 11 goals with 11 assists on a Judge team that won Region 13 and finished as the 3A runner-up.

Syracuse High defender Porter Brown plans to sign with Western Wyoming Community College.


Box Elder guard Emily Isaacson signed with D-II Dixie State. Isaacson led the Bees last season in scoring, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as Box Elder upset top-seeded Skyridge in the first round of the 5A state tournament.


Fremont swimmer Kyrie Sutherland signed with Dixie State, the school announced.


Fremont outfielder Hunter Pales signed with Salt Lake Community College. Pales batted .400 with a triple, two doubles and three RBIs last season for the Silver Wolves.


Syracuse middle hitter/blocker Lauren Sotomayor signed with D-II Spring Hill College (Alabama). Sotomayor led the Titans with 57 blocks, was second with 265 kills and also had 37 service aces, the third most on the team.


Roy High’s Hunter Yoder will play at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Yoder batted .326 with 11 RBIs and three doubles in 15 reported games for the Royals last season.

Layton High’s Micah Del Rio will also play at Southwestern Oregon. Del Rio batted .338 with 12 RBIs for the Lancers.

Northridge’s Tyson Denning and Viewmont’s Cameron Barson also plan to play at SWOCC.

Syracuse pitcher Hunter Van Vleet plans to sign with Barstow Community College (California).
