BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful boys basketball clinched at least a share of the Region 5 title with a 67-48 win over Viewmont on Wednesday night.

Brig Willard and Isaac Kime each scored 13 points to lead Bountiful (14-8, 7-1 Region 5). Robert Whaley had 12 points and five rebounds, and Camron Chism added 11 points.

The Braves can clinch the outright region title and the No. 1 seed with one more win.

Parker Kearns led Viewmont (6-13, 4-4) with 11 points, while Dallin May had 10 points and 12 rebounds.


ROY — After playing to a 37-37 halftime tie, Woods Cross outscored Roy 40-29 in the second half for a region road win.

Tyler Roberts led all scorers with 19 points for Woods Cross (13-6, 4-4 Region 5). Brant Jerman scored 15 and Joshua Larson had 13. Jacob Lewis and Elliot Spencer each scored 12 points.

Ryan Hansen led Roy (6-13, 2-6) with 14 points. Kobe Schriver and Easton Bitton each scored 12 and Robert Snow added 10 points.


FARMINGTON — Kendall Draxler scored 22 points to lead Farmington to a region win over Box Elder.

Jake Davis added 11 points for the Phoenix (12-9, 5-3 Region 5), who outscored the Bees 14-9 in a pivotal third quarter. Farmington lef 29-28 at the half.

Riley Dahlgren led Box Elder (2-14, 2-6) with 13 points and parker Buchanan added 11.


LOGAN — Bear River took a 15-11 lead into the second quarter and made that lead stand up in a vital region win at Logan.

Mark Huber led all scorers with 20 points for Bear River (17-6, 6-3 Region 13). Parker Coombs added 12. With one game left, the Bears are tied for second place with Sky View, but hold the third seed in Region 12.

Josh Jensen scored 15 points to lead Logan (9-12, 5-4).
