WOODS CROSS — Box Elder coasted to a 42-27 win over Woods Cross on Tuesday to clinch a top seed and at least a share of the Region 5 championship.

Emily Isaacson led all scorers with 17 points for Box Elder (15-5, 8-0 Region 5).

Mele Tauataina led the Wildcats (6-12, 4-4) with 10 points.

LAYTON 58, DAVIS 55

LAYTON — Davis led 21-17 after the first quarter but Layton took control in the second stanza, outscoring the Darts 16-4.

Hailey Cuppett scored 15 points to lead Layton (12-6, 5-5 Region 1) and Meg Edwards scored 13.

Hannah Loveland led Davis (13-6, 7-3) with 15 points while Kylee Mabry added 11.

The decision assures an outright Region 1 championship for Fremont (17-1, 10-0).

CLEARFIELD 56, NORTHRIDGE 49

CLEARFIELD — Clearfield led 25-14 at the half and held off a Northridge second-half charge to pick up its first region win on the season.

Taevey Davis led the Falcons (5-15, 1-10 Region 1) with 11 points and Kiersten Boyack scored 10.

Kaitlin Clark scored a game-high 13 points to pace Northridge (5-15, 1-10). Star Thackeray added 11 points.

FARMINGTON 60, VIEWMONT 44

FARMINGTON — Farmington raced away from Viewmont with a 22-10 fourth quarter to clinch second place in Region 5.

Valeree Kunzler scored 19 points and Xuriyah Harry 15 to lead Farmington (12-7, 6-2 Region 5).

Karlie Gunnell led Viewmont (7-12, 4-4) with 14 points.

BONNEVILLE 61, PARK CITY 17

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Jenna Czarnecki scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and Bonneville led 33-9 at the half in a region win over Park City (1-16, 1-7 Region 11).

Ashley Croyle added 14 points and Lily Hall netted 10 for the Lakers (14-5, 8-1).

BOUNTIFUL 49, ROY 32

ROY — Roy led 10-8 after the first quarter but Bountiful used a 17-5 third quarter to take control in the region contest.

Baily Jenkins led all scorers with 25 points for the Braves (7-13, 2-6 Region 5). MaKenzie Hansen netted 10.

Bailey Hill led Roy (0-18, 0-8) with seven points and Saige Nielsen added five.

JUAN DIEGO 65, BEN LOMOND 42

DRAPER — Ben Lomond trailed 28-17 at the half and could not catch up in a road loss at Juan Diego.

LaDeitra Hobson led the Scots (4-14, 2-7 Region 11) with 15 points and Nyekuar Puk added 12.

SKY VIEW 55, BEAR RIVER 43

SMITHFIELD — Bear River trailed 23-18 at the half and could get no closer in a region loss at Sky View.

Cailee Sidwell led Bear River (3-14, 1-6 Region 12) with 12 points while Olivia Taylor and Mckenzie Bywater each scored 10.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 58, ST. JOSEPH 46

LAYTON — Danyale Thomas scored a game-high 27 points as Layton Christian (8-13, 5-4 Region 16) defeated St. Joseph and clinched Region 16’s No. 3 seed. Joanna Oladapo added 19 points and 15 rebounds.

Virginia Tomon led St. Joseph (10-11, 2-7) with 25 points and 15 rebounds. Kathleen Von Hoffman scored seven points and Sydney Brown added nine rebounds.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WEBER 53, SYRACUSE 50

SYRACUSE — Weber outscored Syracuse 10-2 in the second quarter to take a 21-12 lead, then held off a Titans fourth-quarter charge.

Hudson Schenck led Weber (10-7, 4-4 Region 1) with 14 points, five assists and three steals. Max Triplett had 13 points, six steals and three blocks while Braedon Iverson had six rebounds.

Tanner Judd led Syracuse (5-15, 1-8) with 12 points. Bridger Hamblin and Dylan Hawkes each scored eight.

NORTHRIDGE 42, CLEARFIELD 41

CLEARFIELD — Northridge outlasted Clearfield in a low-scoring affair by shooting 17 of 20 from the free-throw line. The teams combined to shoot 27.5 percent from the field.

Nathan DeBerry led Northridge (9-11, 4-5 Region 1) with 11 points. Mason Macrum added 10 points.

Grayson Banks scored 12 points and Junior Lealao 10 to lead Clearfield (5-13, 1-8).

DAVIS 72, LAYTON 61

LAYTON — Jake Sampson shot 6 of 7 from the 3-point line and Davis scorched the nets in a win at Layton.

Sampson led Davis (13-7, 7-2 Region 1) with 18 points as the Darts shot 13 of 23 from deep as a team. Tyson Garff totaled 14 points and seven rebounds. Trevan Leonhardt added 11 points and five assists, and Brendon Redford pitched in eight points and nine assists.

Collin Jeppson shot 11 of 12 from the free-throw line on the way to a game-high 27 points for Layton (8-9, 5-3). Tanner Kofoed added 16 points.

BONNEVILLE 53, PARK CITY 43

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Park City led 18-16 at the half but Bonneville outscored the Miners 14-4 in the third quarter to take control.

Tyler Hancock’s 12 points paced Bonneville (13-5, 6-3). Kinnon Finder added 10.

JUAN DIEGO 65, BEN LOMOND 41

DRAPER — Ben Lomond was outscored 23-8 in the final frame in a loss at Juan Diego (18-1, 8-0 Region 11).

Chans Edjamboya led Ben Lomond (6-12, 1-8) with 14 points. Carlos Aguirre added nine points on three 3-pointers.
