PLAIN CITY — Baylor Harrop poured in a school-record 40 points as Fremont bludgeoned Syracuse 67-47 at home Tuesday night.

Harrop shot 12 of 18 from the field, including 5 of 9 from deep, and was 11 of 11 from the free-throw line to eclipse the previous school record of 38 set by Brock Smith, according to head coach/athletic director Corey Melaney.

Tige Voorhees added 11 points for Fremont (15-5, 9-1 Region 1). Dallin Hall grabbed eight rebounds and Mitch Stratford dished six assists.

Kobe Rusch scored 11 points to lead Syracuse (5-17, 1-10).

LAYTON 76, WEBER 52

LAYTON — Tanner Kofoed totaled 26 points, seven assists and two steals to lead Layton to a win over Weber, securing at least third place for the Lancers in region play.

Layton (10-9, 7-3 Region 1) used a 21-12 third quarter to break away in the contest. Collin Jeppson added 16 points and Jacob Randall nine in the win.

Hudson Schenck led Weber (11-8, 5-5) with 15 points and five assists. Brandt Opheikens added 13 points, and Max Triplett totaled 11 rebounds and three blocks.

DAVIS 66, CLEARFIELD 48

KAYSVILLE — Davis clinched at least second place in Region 1 by defeating Clearfield.

Tyson Garff led Davis (15-7, 9-2 Region 1) with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Brendon Redford added 12 points and Trevan Leonhardt scored 11.

Matt McGarry and Grayson Banks each scored nine for Clearfield (5-14, 1-9).

STANSBURY 52, BEN LOMOND 46

STANSBURY PARK — Ben Lomond trailed 30-19 at the half and its second-half comeback bid fell short in a region loss at Stansbury (9-12, 9-5 Region 11).

Stephon Watson led Ben Lomond (6-14, 1-10) with 14 points and five rebounds. Titus Hughes added 10 points and six boards.

JUAN DIEGO 78, OGDEN 35

DRAPER — Juan Diego outscored Ogden 27-12 in the first quarter to take control early in a win over the visiting Tigers.

Colin Knowles led Ogden (4-15, 1-9 Region 11) with 10 points. Bo DeVries added nine points.

Weber State football signee Raimoana Tinirauarii scored 10 of his 16 points in the first quarter for Juan Diego (20-1, 10-0).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

FREMONT 41, SYRACUSE 26

PLAIN CITY — Emma Calvert scored 14 points and Fremont led 24-6 at the half to finish perfect in region play with a win over Syracuse.

Timea Gardiner added 11 points for the Silver Wolves (19-1, 12-0 Region 1) and Haylee Doxey had nine.

Rachel Godfrey led Syracuse (14-7, 7-5) with eight points.

CLEARFIELD 45, DAVIS 42

KAYSVILLE — Clearfield and Davis entered the second quarter tied 13-13, then the Falcons took control with a 13-6 advantage in the second stanza in a region road win.

Emily Soto and Miranda Mansfield each scored 10 points for Clearfield (6-15, 2-10 Region 1). Brynnley Christiansen and Kiersten Boyack added eight points apiece.

Kylee Mabry led the Darts (13-8, 7-5) with 10 points and Phoebe Arnold scored eight.

FARMINGTON 58, ROY 27

ROY — Delaney Baker scored 14 points and Valerie Kunzler added 13 as Farmington (13-8, 7-3 Region 5) wrapped up its second-place region campaign with a road victory.

Brea Bramwell scored nine points on three 3-pointers and Sha’Kyra Joiner added seven points for Roy (0-20, 0-10).

STANSBURY 62, BEN LOMOND 27

STANSBURY PARK — Ben Lomond was outscored 20-3 in the second quarter of a region loss at Stansbury.

LaDeitra Hobson led Ben Lomond (4-15, 2-8 Region 11) with nine points and 12 rebounds.

LOGAN 54, BEAR RIVER 38

GARLAND — Bear River fell behind 20-9 after the first quarter and could not recover in a region loss to Logan (13-9, 6-3 Region 12).

Olivia Taylor led the Bears (4-15, 2-7) with eight points. The loss eliminates Bear River from playoff contention.

JUAN DIEGO 52, OGDEN 40

DRAPER — Ogden trailed 25-16 at the half and could get no closer in a region loss at Juan Diego.

Brynn Soelberg led Ogden (5-14, 3-7 Region 11) with seven points and Makin Clarke added six.

VIEWMONT 56, BOX ELDER 50

BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont outscored Box Elder 39-24 in the second half to hand the Bees their first region loss.

Emma Carr led the Vikings (9-12, 6-4 Region 5) with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Karlia Gunnell added 12 points on three 3-pointers. Viewmont secured Region 5’s three-seed with the victory.

Morgan Reeder scored a game-high 20 points for Box Elder (16-6, 9-1).

BOUNTIFUL 39, WOODS CROSS 35

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful took a 20-11 lead into the break and helf off a Woods Cross comeback bid in a region contest.

Waverly Bowman and Tashena Ashby each scored nine points for Bountiful (9-13, 4-6 Region 5). The result pulls Bountiful into a fourth-place tie with Woods Cross and the two will contest a play-in game.

Riley Aiono led all scorers with 15 points for the Wildcats (6-14, 4-6).
