Region 1 play began for boys basketball in Northern Utah. Here's a full score roundup for girls and boys games Friday, Jan. 4.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

LAYTON 58, CLEARFIELD 47

CLEARFIELD — Layton outscored Clearfield 40-25 in the second half for a region road win.

Kamryn Black and Meg Edwards each scored 11 points to lead the Lancers (9-2, 2-1 Region 1). Brenda Gallegos added 10.

Brynnley Christiansen scored a game-high 13 points on four 3-pointers to pace Clearfield (4-8, 0-3). Kiersten Boyack added 11.

FREMONT 64, DAVIS 36

KAYSVILLE — Fremont (10-2, 3-0 Region 1) led by as many as 36 points en route to a blowout win over Davis.

Emma Calvert scored 17 points to lead the Silver Wolves. Both Haylee Doxey and Averee Porter added 10 points.

Callie Tolman led the Darts (7-4, 1-1) with eight points. Both Hannah Loveland and Kylee Maybry scored six.

Fremont was ahead 33-10 at halftime. The Silver Wolves’ three region wins have come by an average of 19 points.

BONNEVILLE 41, TOOELE 17

WASHINGTON TERRACE — In a region-opening contest featuring last season’s top two teams from Region 11, Bonneville held Tooele to five first-half points on the way to a big win.

Jenna Czarnecki led Bonneville (7-4, 1-0 Region 11) with 11 points. Karly Conolly had 10 points and 11 rebounds while Courtnie Porter added eight points.

PARK CITY 46, BEN LOMOND 37

PARK CITY — Ben Lomond led 21-15 at the half but was outscored 31-16 from there in a region loss at Park City.

Jasmine Forte scored 11 points to lead Ben Lomond (2-8, 0-1 Region 11). Andie Boothe added 10 for the Scots.

WENDOVER 57, ST. JOSEPH 32

OGDEN — Virginia Tomon scored a game-high 23 points but it wasn’t enough as St. Joseph (7-3) fell to Wendover at home. The Jayhawks trailed 26-17 at the half.

MURRAY 49, WOODS CROSS 31

MURRAY — Woods Cross was held to 10 first-half points in a road defeat at Murray.

Taylor Jackson led the Wildcats (2-8) with eight points and Riley Aiono added seven.

EAST 73, BOUNTIFUL 48

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful was held to three points in the first quarter and trailed 43-11 at the half in a home loss to East.

Dashani Purcell led the Braves (5-7) with 10 points. Tashena Ashby added nine points and Waverly Bowman scored eight.

STANSBURY 60, OGDEN 27

OGDEN — Stansbury rolled to a big win to spoil the region opener for Ogden (2-8, 0-1 Region 11). No stats were reported.

BOYS BASKETBALL

NORTHRIDGE 58, SYRACUSE 42

LAYTON — Northridge outscored Syracuse 32-17 in the second half to claim a win to open Region 1 play Friday.

Mason Macrum splashed home seven 3-pointers to account for all of his 21 points to lead Northridge (6-6, 1-0 Region 1). Alec Duffin added 12 points and Alec Bergman seven.

For Syracuse (4-8, 0-1), Keaton Seaich scored 10 points and Ty Burke added seven.

LAYTON 65, CLEARFIELD 59

CLEARFIELD — Layton used a balanced scoring effort to overcome Connor Izatt’s 22 points and defeat Clearfield to open Region 1 play.

Layton (4-6, 1-0 Region 1) got 15 points apiece from Jacob Randall and Tanner Kofoed, and 14 points each from Ryan Lowder and Ethan Potter.

Riley Clearly added 14 points for Clearfield (4-6, 0-1).

OLYMPUS 64, VIEWMONT 58

BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont led briefly in the first quarter but couldn’t get over the hump in a non-region loss to Olympus.

Parker Kearns shot 13 of 18 for 27 points to lead Viewmont. Gavin Chowen totaled 15 points and seven rebounds. Henry Morris added seven rebounds.

WOODS CROSS 73, GREEN CANYON 55

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross jumped to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and coasted to a big win over Green Canyon.

Tyler Roberts led all scorers with 20 points for Woods Cross (8-2). Brant Jerman netted 19 points, Jake Howe had 15 and Jake Lewis scored 11.

FARMINGTON 61, SKYLINE 46

SALT LAKE CITY — Kendall Draxler scored 17 to lead Farmington (6-6) to a road win at at Skyline.

McKay Thomsen tallied 13 and Jack Davis added 10 for the Phoenix.

ROY 51, EAST 46

ROY — Roy (4-7) trailed 28-25 at the half but outscored East 13-5 in the third quarter ito take control in a home win.

Ryan Hansen led the Royals with 16 points including two 3-pointers while Porter Thackeray added 10.

STANSBURY 70, OGDEN 39

OGDEN — Ogden led 13-12 after one quarter but was outscored 58-26 the rest of the way in their region-opening contest.

Isaiah Coria led Ogden (3-7, 0-1 Region 11) with nine points.

LOGAN 64, BOX ELDER 56

LOGAN — Box Elder played Logan to an 18-18 draw through one quarter but was outscored 17-11 in the second stanza and could not recover.

Ronnie Smith led the Bees (2-7) with 19 points on two 3-pointers. Riley Dahlgren scored 13 with three treys and Parker Buchanan added 11 points for Box Elder.

WENDOVER 105, ST. JOSEPH 73

OGDEN — St. Joseph trailed Wendover 56-29 at the half in a home loss.

Stockton Buckway and Gavin Andersen scored 14 points apiece to lead the Jayhawks (6-6). CJ Kierejewski added 13 points and Jaxon Harper tallied 11 for St. Joseph.

Jaime Montalvo poured in a game-high 41 points for Wendover.

PARK CITY 57, BEN LOMOND 40

PARK CITY — Ben Lomond trailed 32-18 at the half in a region loss at Park City.

Titus Hughes scored a game-high 17 points to pace Ben Lomond (5-5, 0-1 Region 11).

MORGAN 76, WEST 68

MORGAN — Seth Hadley led the way with 17 points as Morgan beat West.

Trey Miles, Andrew Russell and Carter Thackeray each scored 14 for Morgan (8-4).

LAYTON CHRISTIAN at JUDGE MEMORIAL (PPD)

SALT LAKE CITY — Layton Christian’s game at Judge Memorial was rescheduled to Saturday, Jan. 12, at Vivint Arena. Tipoff will be 1 p.m.
