FARMINGTON — Farmington (3-5) won its first-ever home volleyball match by downing Logan in straight sets Tuesday evening. Scores were 25-10, 25-14, 25-19.
Madison Gundry led the Phoenix with 8 kills and 8 digs. Jade Flitton had seven kills and seven digs. Rylee Brown served five aces and freshman Taylor Russon had 21 assists.
NORTHRIDGE 3, VIEWMONT 1
LAYTON — Northridge (1-0) opened its season by beating Viemont (4-4) in four sets. Scores were 25-23, 15-25, 25-23, 25-13.
Karli Nielson had 12 kills and hit .261 to lead Northridge. Abbie Jensen hit .429 with seven kills and Kacia Gufman added six kills. Libero Morgan Ringler had 17 digs and Alex Ivory served six aces for the Knights.
SKY VIEW 3, CLEARFIELD 0
SMITHFIELD — Clearfield (0-1) fell at Sky View in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.
Kennli Rogers and Missy Mortensen each had five kills for the Falcons. Addy Follett had two service aces.
JUDGE MEMORIAL 3, BONNEVILLE 2
WASHINGTON TERRACE — Judge Memorial won a five-set contest at Bonneville (0-2). Set scores were 23-25, 26-24, 25-19, 13-25, 15-10.
Freshman outside hitter Scarlett Kluge led the Lakers with 10 kills and three blocks. Abby Vanvossen had 10 kills and four blocks. Libero Avery Best had 30 digs, four kills and one ace.

PLAIN CITY — Fremont (1-1) dropped a grueling five-set contest to Bingham. Set scores were 25-18, 6-25, 14-25, 25-15, 15-13.

KAYSVILLE — Bountiful (1-0) defeated Davis (5-3) in five sets by scores of 19-25, 25-22, 12-25, 25-20, 15-7.

WOODS CROSS — Woods Cross (1-2) downed Taylorsville in straight sets to claim its first win of the season. Set scores were 25-22, 25-20, 25-23.

OGDEN — Ben Lomond (0-2) fell at East in straight sets. Scores were unavailable at press time.
SYRACUSE 2, WEBER 0
SYRACUSE — Syracuse (7-0, 3-0 Region 1) scored a goal in each half in a shutout win over Weber (4-3, 2-1).
Caroline Stringfellow and Genevieve Gotschall scored for the Titans. Lauren Burnett and Ashlyn Hall assisted. Brooklyn Stringfellow earned the clean sheet.
FREMONT 2, NORTHRIDGE 2
LAYTON — Fremont (1-4-1, 0-2-1 Region 1) and Northridge (2-4-1, 0-2-1) fought to a draw in region play.
For Northridge, Natalie Layland scored in the 30th minute. Raigen Barber found the back of the net in the 56th minute on a cross from Lauren Call.
Sophia Henley scored to give Fremont a 1-0 lead. Payten Ivins converted a penalty kick near the end of regulation to force extra time.
LAYTON 2, CLEARFIELD 0
CLEARFIELD — Atley Thompson scored a goal in each half to lead Layton (5-1, 2-0 Region 1) in a blanking at Clearfield (1-4-1, 0-2).
Thompson’s first score came off a Brynlee Roberts cross. Meg Edwards earned the shutout.
ROY 4, BOX ELDER 1
ROY — Roy (5-2, 1-0 Region 5) took a 3-0 lead on the way to a region road win at Box Elder (3-2-2, 0-1).
Kennedy Bodily tallied a brace for the Royals. Kennley Bradley and Abbie Hunter each scored once and Alyssa Arrington picked up two assists.
McKenna Ricks scored for the Bees.
FARMINGTON 2, BOUNTIFUL 0
FARMINGTON — Farmington (4-2-2, 1-0 Region 5) scored a goal in each half and shut out Bountiful (0-5-2, 0-1) to pick up the first region win in Phoenix history.
Taya Corbridge started the scoring in the sixth minute, assisted by Ellie Morris. Morris capped the scoring in the 68th minute on an assist by Sydney Randall.
Natalie Maire earned the clean sheet in goal.
LOGAN 9, MORGAN 1
LOGAN — Sagie McGreer scored the lone Morgan goal on a penalty kick but the Trojans dropped the contest at Logan. Morgan trailed 2-0 at the half.
APA-DRAPER 2, ST. JOSEPH 2
OGDEN — St. Joseph (0-2-1, 0-0-1 Region 16) and American Preparatory Academy-Draper played to a draw in their region opener.
Emma Morgan scored a first-half goal for St. Joseph to pull the Jayhawks to a 2-1 deficit at the half. Sophie Bokinskie netted the only goal of the second half to force extra time.
VIEWMONT 2, WOODS CROSS 0
BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont (4-2, 1-0 Region 5) scored twice in the first half on the way to the region win over Woods Cross (0-5, 0-1).
Sydney Anderson and Hannah Cosper each scored for the Vikings. Lydia Pitt earned the shutout.
ROWLAND HALL 11, UTAH MILITARY 0
SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Military Academy (0-1, 0-1 Region 16) trailed 7-0 at the half on the way to dropping its opening game at Rowland Hall.
BONNEVILLE 8, JUAN DIEGO 0
WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville (5-0-1, 2-0 Region 11) thumped Juan Diego on Monday to remain unbeaten this season.
Bailey Hassel and Katelyn Fletcher each found the back of the net twice for the Lakers. Izzy Togisala, Hayden Rupe, Hailey Price, and Leo Hansen each added one goal.
Ashley Croyle and Abree Beardall shared the shutout.
OGDEN 1, TOOELE 0
TOOELE — Kadrey Howell’s second-half goal was the difference as Ogden (4-1-1, 3-0 Region 11) grabbed a narrow win at Tooele on Monday.
Jacoba Egbert assisted on Howell’s goal and Allison Collinwood recorded the shutout for the Tigers, who face Bonneville on Wednesday.
KEARNS 3, BEAR RIVER 2
GARLAND — Bear River (2-4) allowed two second-half goals in a home loss to 6A Kearns on Monday.
Veronica Domingues scored in the first minute to give the Bears the early lead. Makenzie Lorimer scored in the 48th minute for Bear River to knot the game at 2-2.
Surraya Moore, who scored all three Kearns goals, netted the game-winner in the 63rd minute.
UMA 15, UMA-LEHI 5
RIVERDALE — Utah Military Academy led 7-5 going into the bottom of the fifth, then plated eight to run-rule their UMA counterparts from Lehi.
James Summers had one of UMA’s six hits — all singles — walked twice and drove in two. Drawgen Glover stole three bases.
ST. JOSEPH 17, APA-WV 11
WEST VALLEY — St. Joseph scored eight runs in the top of the third inning and tacked on seven more in the fourth to grab a road win at at American Preparatory Academy-West Valley.
