PLEASANT VIEW — Jayci Finch pitched a complete-game shutout and Clearfield softball scored twice in the seventh inning to beat Weber 2-0 on Friday.

Brynnley Christiansen batted 2 for 4 for the Falcons (6-6, 2-4 Region 1), who scored on a Hannah Smith single in the top of the seventh.

In the tough loss, Brooke Merrill pitched a complete game and struck out eight batters for the Warriors (5-7, 1-6).

DAVIS 7, SYRACUSE 1

SYRACUSE — Davis (10-3, 6-1 Region 1) beat Syracuse on the road behind a pitching gem from Kya Wilmott.

Wilmott allowed three hits and struck out 11 batters.

Paige Elkins batted 2 for 3 with a triple, a walk and three RBIs for Davis. Ellie Anderson batted 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI, and Lexi Sunderland hit 2 for 4 with one RBI.

Karsyn Jensen batted 2 for 3 for Syracuse (4-8, 1-4).

ROY 4, BONNEVILLE 1

ROY — Jakell Eddy hit two doubles and drove in two runs for Roy in a non-region win over Bonneville (7-9).

Ana Palmer batted 2 for 3, Bri Wolfley drove in a run and Kiley Hill picked up the win in the circle for the Royals (7-8).

Macyn Hartman and Sydnee Smith each doubled for the Lakers. Sami Westmoreland drove in a run.

PARK CITY 16, BEN LOMOND 1

PARK CITY — Ben Lomond (2-10, 0-5 Region 11) scored a run in the second inning but fell at Park City in a four-inning game.

BOUNTIFUL 9, FARMINGTON 3

FARMINGTON — Libbie Hawker batted 3 for 4 with a double as Bountiful (11-3, 8-0 Region 5) stayed perfect in Region 5. Shambre Maestas hit 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Sophia Stoddard hit a home run.

Lauren Gray hit 3 for 4 with a double for Farmington (5-7, 4-4). Emily Barton batted 2 for 3 with a double and Haley McFarland went 2 for 4.

BEAR RIVER 5, LOGAN 1

GARLAND — Ashley Hass and Josie Larkin both batted 3 for 4 as Bear River (7-8, 4-0 Region 12) kept its unbeaten run in Region 12 softball.

Hess doubled and the Bears had nine base hits while holding Logan to two. Jordyn Warren got the win for BR in the circle.

BOX ELDER 6, WOODS CROSS 3

BRIGHAM CITY — Sydnie Blacker drove in three runs as Box Elder (4-10, 4-4 Region 5) took out Woods Cross (7-10, 5-4).

Jostlen Leggett batted 2 for 2 and Kallie Bair hit 2 for 3 while Tegan Mecham pitched a complete game for the Bees. Jess Wall drove in two runs for Woods Cross.

NORTHRIDGE 19, VIEWMONT 9

Northridge bagged a mercy-rule win over Viewmont (2-13) with four runs in the fifth inning.

MaKenna Kap batted 3 for 3 with two doubles, Amanda Lee drove in four runs, Keziah Stutzman drove in four runs and Sahalee Macavinta batted 3 for 5 with two RBIs. The Knights (6-8) had 23 base hits with eight players notching multiple hits.

Kallee Bate doubled and drove in four runs for Viewmont. Sadie Dunn and Taylor Sovic each batted 3 for 3.

KEARNS 6, LAYTON 2

Layton (11-3) scored twice in the top of the first inning but lost to Kearns. Brooklyn Pritchett batted 2 for 3.

BASEBALL

RIVERTON 6, NORTHRIDGE 2

RIVERTON — Riverton broke a 2-2 tie with four runs in the sixth inning, then turned a game-ending double play to snuff out a Northridge comeback bid.

Stockton Cleverly led the Knights (2-12) at the plate, batting 2 for 3 with an RBI. Jacob Rhoades doubled in the other Northridge run.

VIEWMONT 4 & 9, ROY 3 & 8

BOUNTIFUL — Aaron Bredsguard hit a walk-off RBI single as Viewmont (3-10, 3-1 Region 5) swept Roy in a Friday doubleheader, winning 4-3 and 9-8.

Bredsguard, a Utah State football signee, also pitched a complete game and struck out nine Roy (8-5, 1-2 Region 5) batters. Noah Montoya batted 2 for 3.

Cade Harris led the Royals by hitting 3 for 4. Starting pitcher AJ Estes pitched six innings and allowed on earned run.

In the second game, Roy scored two runs in the seventh inning but couldn’t complete the comeback. Noah Montoya batted 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a double, while Jaxon Uffens hit 2 for 3 for Viewmont.

For Roy, Porter Thackeray tripled, stole two bases and drove in a run. Dylan Thoms dove in two runs and Miles Gage hit 2 for 3.

SYRACUSE 7 & 8, FREMONT 4 & 4

SYRACUSE — Syracuse stopped a four-game losing streak by sweeping Fremont in a doubleheader, winning 7-4 and 8-4.

In the first game, Dylan Hawkes had a double and three RBIs, Bridger Nall hit 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Mark Amparan batted 2 for 3 for Syracuse (8-7, 5-4 Region 1).

Sage Wayment drove in two Fremont (11-8, 7-5 Region 1) runs while Mason Memmott and Brayden Clark each hit a double.

In the second game, Hunter Van Fleet homered and drove in three runs for the Titans while Trey Schofield and Mark Amparan both batted 2 for 4.

Jaxon Larkin hit 2 for 4 for the Silver Wolves. Drake Grange walked twice and drove in a run.

BONNEVILLE 8 & 7, OGDEN 2 & 3

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Bonneville swept Ogden (2-14, 2-11 Region 11) in a crucial doubleheader Friday by scores of 8-2 and 7-3.

In the first game, Aiden Taylor pitched six innings for Bonneville, allowing one run and striking out 10. Cameron Jones batted 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Will Toller hit 2 for 3 with an RBI and a double and Brian Jones batted 2 for 4. Jerik Roberts and Matt Garceau each drove in a run for Ogden.

In the second game, Austin Williams pitched a complete game as the Lakers (8-10, 6-6 Region 11) overcame an early 3-0 deficit. Spencer Hildebrand batted 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Taylor hit 2 for 3 and Jones hit a double. For Ogden, Gage Lovell hit 2 for 3 and Payton Boney drove in a run.

LAYTON 8 & 11, WEBER 0 & 8

PLEASANT VIEW — Layton swept Weber (6-10, 1-8 Region 1) in a doubleheader by scores of 8-0 and 11-8. Micah Del Rio pitched a complete-game shutout for the Lancers (7-9, 4-5) in the first game, allowing one hit with 10 strikeouts.

Bryce Greenhalgh was Layton’s winning pitcher in the second game.

BOUNTIFUL 13, BOX ELDER 2

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful exploded for nine runs in the first inning and cruised the rest of the way to beat Box Elder (4-11, 1-4 Region 5) via mercy rule.

Josh Welling and Peyton Hale drove in three runs for the Braves (6-5, 1-2 Region 5). Hale and Mason Farr both batted 2 for 2.

Tyler Moffitt and Carson Lancaster drove in a run apiece for the Bees.

WOODS CROSS 9 & 6, FARMINGTON 7 & 0

FARMINGTON — Woods Cross began the day by beating Farmington 9-7 in a game that resumed from earlier this week, then shut out the Phoenix 6-0 in the second game to take the series.

In the resumed game, Karson Bodily batted 3 for 4 and Chris Warner went 2 for 3 for Woods Cross (7-8, 3-2 Region 5). Sam Stone drove in two runs.

Ethan Trump batted 2 for 4 with a stolen base for Farmington (6-8, 4-2) and Sam Parrish hit a double.

In the second game, WX pitchers Tanner Evans and Dyland Williams combined to throw a shutout. Karson Bodily hit 3 for 4 with a stolen base and a double, and Chris Warner hit 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a double.

Brandon Young led Farmington with a 2-for-3 performance and a stolen base.

BEAR RIVER 7 & 12, SKY VIEW 4 & 7

SMITHFIELD — Wyatt Roholt totaled eight hits and Bear River completed a three-game sweep over defending Region 12 champions Sky View by beating the Bobcats twice Friday, 7-4 and 12-7.

In the first game, Roholt batted 4 for 4, all singles, and Goose Noble drove in two runs for the Bears (11-7, 5-4 Region 12). BR broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the fifth.

Roholt again hit four singles in the second game, going 4 for 5 with an RBI. Dillon Marble hit 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Easton Lish batted 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a double.

MORGAN 10, SOUTH SUMMIT 3

MORGAN — Morgan used a five-run second inning to pick up a region win.

Dexter Gilson, Garrett Spens and Chase Stuart each drove in two runs for Morgan (8-9, 4-4 Region 13).

Carter Payne picked up the win, allowing one unearned run in three innings. Bode Fife threw two scoreless innings to close the game.

OGDEN — Ben Lomond (8-4, 7-2 Region 11) took over first place in Region 11 with a commanding win over Tooele.

Rogelio Ceja scored three goals and the Scots led 4-0 at halftime. Alfredo Barrandey and Giovanni Martinez scored one goal apiece.

PARK CITY 3, OGDEN 2 (2OT)

PARK CITY — Ogden gave up a golden-goal winner in the second period of extra time at Park City.

Eric Estrada scored one goal for the Tigers (6-3-2, 6-2-2 Region 11) and Jace Bauer scored a goal, assisted by Gram Burkdoll.

By way of the loss and Ben Lomond’s win, Ogden, which has 20 points in Region 11, is now in second place.

BOX ELDER 4, BOUNTIFUL 3

BRIGHAM CITY — Box Elder scored two goals in the second half to overcome a 3-2 halftime deficit and beat Bountiful. Bryce Shimizacki scored twice, with Josh Duncan and Daxton Allen adding a goal apiece for the Bees (5-4-1, 2-2 Region 5).

Dallan Burgan netted twice and Peyton Paxton also scored for Bountiful (2-5-2, 1-3).

FARMINGTON 3, WOODS CROSS 1

WOODS CROSS — Farmington turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win over Woods Cross.

Ike Beckman, Mason McCrae and Nick Wood scored in the second half for the Phoenix (2-5-1, 2-2 Region 5). Elvis Corado scored for Woods Cross (4-6-3, 2-2 Region 5).

MORGAN 5, GRANTSVILLE 0

MORGAN — Jacob Firby scored two goals in the first half, then Morgan (8-4-2, 4-1-1 Region 13) scored three more in the second half to beat Grantsville. Chase Lane, Carson Flitton and Bradley Allgaier netted in the second half. Kolby Westenskow recorded the clean sheet.
