SOUTH JORDAN — In a rematch of last season’s 6A state championship game, Fremont girls basketball overcame a 24-14 halftime deficit and beat Bingham 51-48 on the road in overtime Thursday.

Emma Calvert led the Silver Wolves with 18 points. Timea Gardiner and Haylee Doxey both scored 10.

WEST 63, CLEARFIELD 56

Clearfield’s 21-point fourth quarter wasn’t enough to overcome an 11-point deficit in a loss at West.

Kiersten Boyack led the Falcons with 21 points, Taevey Davis scored 17 and Miranda Mansfield had eight. West had a pair of 20-plus point scorers: Abby Gray with 23 and Whitney Banz with 20.

WENDOVER 40, ST. JOSEPH 38

St. Joseph trailed 22-13 at halftime and nearly pulled off a second-half comeback, but ultimately lost against Wendover.

Virginia Tomon led the Jayhawks with 13 points, Kathleen Von Hoffman scored 11 and Cam Ingram had nine.

DAVIS 65, FARMINGTON 57

Davis High used a 13-0 run in the third quarter to pull away from Farmington High in the first-ever girls basketball meeting between the neighboring schools.

The Darts had four players in double figures, led by Hannah Loveland’s 15 points. Callie Tolman and Phoebe Arnold each scored 14 and Kelsey Leavitt had 10.

Brooklyn Perkins led the Phoenix with 14 points, Abigail Ferrell scored 13, Valerie Kunzler added 11 and Maloree Chisholm pitched in 10 points.

SOUTH SUMMIT 59, BEN LOMOND 37

Ben Lomond was outscored 36-20 in the second half in a loss against South Summit. The Scots initially led 10-9 after the first quarter.

LaDeitra Hobson and Jasmine Forte scored 10 points each to lead Ben Lomond.

MORGAN 64, KEARNS 34

Morgan raced out to a 36-13 halftime lead in a dominant win over 6A Kearns.

Jacie House led the Trojans with 18 points, Sydney Cragun scored nine and Ashlyn Morrell had seven points with eight rebounds and three steals.

WOODS CROSS 40, OLYMPUS 34

Taylor Jackson and Riley Aiono scored 12 points apiece to lead Woods Cross to a win over Olympus.

The Wildcats trailed 23-16 at halftime but only allowed 11 points the second half, including just two in the third quarter.

PRESTON-ID 46, BOUNTIFUL 36

Bountiful lost in its first game at the Preston (Idaho) Tournament. The Braves trailed 25-18 at halftime and couldn’t chip into the deficit.

BOYS BASKETBALL

WEBER 63, CYPRUS 43

Weber outscored Cyprus 35-19 in the second half of the Warriors’ 20-point, non-region win Thursday.

Hudson Schenck led Weber with 15 points, Brandt Opheikens scored 10 and Max Triplett added eight points with 11 rebounds. The Warriors shot 18 of 23 from the free-throw line.

FREMONT 67, COPPER HILLS 55

Fremont won its first game of the Elite 8 Tournament at American Fork High on Thursday.

Baylor Harrop led the Silver Wolves with 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a 4 of 7 mark from 3-point range.

Dallin Hall scored 16 points with four 3-pointers and Kai Featherstone added 12 points off the bench. After trailing 18-17 at the end of the first quarter, Fremont outscored Copper Hills 18-6 in the second quarter.

BINGHAM 74, DAVIS 69 (OT)

Bingham’s Luke Tueller hit a 3-pointer from half court at the regulation buzzer to force overtime against Davis, where the Miners pulled away from the Darts.

Tyson Garff led all scorers with 32 points on 9-of-16 shooting and added seven rebounds for Davis.

Brendon Redford scored 14 points with six rebounds, Trevan Leonhardt had 12 points and six boards and Jake Sampson chipped in 11 points.

AMERICAN FORK 78, BOUNTIFUL 72

With two minutes left, American Fork led Bountiful 68-67, then went on a 7-0 run to shut the door on the Braves.

Camron Chism went 7 of 14 from the field, including 6 of 13 from 3-point range, to lead Bountiful with 22 points. Brig Willard scored 21 points with a 7 of 7 mark from the foul line and Rob Whaley added 16 points with six rebounds.
