Former Utah State men’s basketball standout David Collette, who drew criticism after announcing his departure from the program two days before the Aggies’ season opener, is reportedly headed to the University of Utah.
Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported the news Tuesday morning on Twitter.

Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo Sports also confirmed the report with a first-hand account from Collette, who is expected to pay his own way next season as Utah State did not release him from his scholarship.
"I chose [Utah] because it's close to home and it has in-state tuition," Collette told Yahoo Sports. "I can't really afford to take my family out of state when we're paying for me and my wife to go to school. This will be a lot cheaper."
It may sound reasonable, but it probably won’t pacify disgruntled Utah State fans.
Collette will be eligible to play at Utah for the 2016-17 season.
