The awards aren’t done for Bountiful High alumnus Sam Merrill.

The Utah State men’s basketball junior guard was named an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American, the organization announced Tuesday.

Merrill already won the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and Mountain West Tournament MVP honors in a season where he scored an average of 20.9 points per game.

Merrill averaged 4.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game, shot 46.1 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from 3-point range and 90.9 percent from the free throw line.

USU shared the regular season Mountain West title with Nevada, then the Aggies beat San Diego State in the Mountain West Tournament championship to clinch the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Washington in the first round.

AP also named Utah Valley’s Jake Toolson to its honorable mentions.
