Weber State football had five players named to the Big Sky’s all-conference first team for the 2022 season, announced Wednesday, and 15 voted by coaches to one of the all-conference teams.

Junior defensive back Maxwell Anderson, junior offensive lineman Noah Atagi, junior defensive back Eddie Heckard, junior linebacker Winston Reid and sophomore kick returner Abraham Williams were voted to first-team honors.

Heckard and Atagi both earned first-team honors for the third time in their careers, two of only nine in Weber State history to do so. Atagi started all 11 games in the regular season and Heckard totaled 56 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups.

Anderson hauled in five interceptions, Reid led WSU with 95 tackles including 10 for loss, and Williams set a Big Sky record with four kickoffs returned for touchdowns in one season.

Weber State players voted to the second team: junior punt returner Haze Hadley, junior offensive lineman Jordan Lutui, senior receiver Ty MacPherson, junior defensive tackle Kalisi Moli and senior safety Desmond Williams.

Junior offensive lineman Ethan Atagi and sophomore running back Dontae McMillan were voted to the third team.

Receiving honorable mentions: sophomore running back Damon Bankston, junior defensive back Kamden Garrett and senior tight end Justin Malone.

The Big Sky’s individual award-winners are: Sacramento State running back Cameron Skattebo (offensive player of the year), Sacramento State hybrid Marte Mapu (defensive player of the year), Montana State quarterback Sean Chambers (newcomer of the year), Idaho quarterback Gevani McCoy (freshman of the year), and a shared coach of the year honors between Sacramento State’s Troy Taylor and Montana State’s Brent Vigen.
