MH 112517 Weber State Western Illinois 45-15

Weber State battles Western Illinois during the first half of a first round FCS playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Stewart Stadium in Ogden.

A lot can change in two years. Two years ago, Weber State football had never hosted a playoff game.

Now, the Wildcats are set to host their second playoff game in as many years and, as the No. 2 seed in the FCS tournament, can play up to three more games in Stewart Stadium with more wins.

First up is a second-round game that’s part of a big doubleheader day for Weber State in which the school hosts both the postseason football game and in-state basketball foe BYU on Saturday, Dec. 1.

For the occasion, Weber State is offering fans a “Black Friday” ticket deal. For $25, interested fans can get one football ticket, one basketball ticket and a T-shirt celebrating the football team’s back-to-back Big Sky championships.

The deal lasts through Monday, Nov. 26. Interested fans can visit, the ticket office at the Dee Events Center, or call 801-626-8500.

In football, the Wildcats play the winner of a first-round game between Stony Brook and Southeast Missouri State. Weber has never played either team. That game kicks off at 2 p.m.

Then the action shifts to the Dee Events Center where the Wildcats men’s basketball team hosts BYU at 7 p.m. That game now happens in Ogden only once every three years. WSU is 8-12 against BYU in Ogden but has not defeated the Cougars since 2003.
