Weber State softball reached first pitch for the 2019 season Friday afternoon, falling 4-3 to Oregon State to open the Kajikawa Classic held at Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona.

Oregon State scored three runs in the third inning for the difference, keyed by a two-run home run from Bailey McLaughlin. Missy Nunes hit a solo shot in the fifth to put the Beavers ahead 4-1.

Chloe Camarero doubled home Brooke Moeai in the seventh inning to pull WSU within one run, but Sadie Blacker and Courtney Pestka each struck out with the tying run on second to end the game.

Landi Hawker drove in two runs for Weber State.

Senior pitcher Tatiana Su'esu'e tossed four innings and took the loss.
