Two days prior and 360 miles north, Weber State women's basketball won at Eastern Washington 70-66 to close the regular season on a high note.

Monday's contest between the same teams in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament appeared to be on a similar track before EWU won 81-74 at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.

No. 11 seed WSU built a 54-46 lead thanks to 11 points in the third quarter from senior Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman. The Wildcats missed a 3-pointer on their final possession of the frame with a chance to go up 11, went five minutes without scoring and gave up 21-5 run.

No. 6 seed Eastern Washington hit five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and pulled away for the win.

Welch-Coleman scored 30 points for Weber State, adding nine rebounds and six assists in her final game as a Wildcat. Fellow senior Emily Drake added 16 points and both played all 40 minutes.

Violet Kapri Morrow and Jessi McDowell-White each scored 19 for Eastern Washington, which made 14 3-pointers for the game.

The young Weber State squad finished 6-25 under first-year head coach Velaida Harris.
