Ogden Pioneer Days Parade

A line of farm machines sponsored by the Weber County Farm Bureau take part in the Ogden Pioneer Days Parade along Washington Boulevard in Ogden on July 24, 2014.

But there are still plenty of farms in Weber County.

Utah County, which is much larger than any other county on the Wasatch Front with 2,003 square miles of land, may have more. But Weber County is a leader, too, particularly when factoring the relative sizes of the counties.

According to the USDA figures, the number of farms in the counties along the Wasatch Front are as follows:

  • Utah County: 2,589 farms, or 1.29 per every square mile of land.
  • Weber County: 1,260 farms, or 2.19 per square mile of land. Weber County covers 576 square miles.
  • Salt Lake County: 592 farms, or 0.8 per square mile of land. Salt Lake County covers 592 square miles.
  • Davis County: 528 farms, or 1.77 per square mile of land. Davis County covers 299 square miles.
