Eden teen overcomes cancer, paralysis to compete in junior high track

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Weber School District's junior high track and field championship began Thursday at Bonneville High School and for one competitor — ninth-grader Alden Peterson of Snowcrest Junior High in Eden — just getting there was a victory. In August 2021, Peterson was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer called anaplastic astrocytoma.
