Gordon Christensen

Gordon V. Christensen of Ogden will celebrate his 80th birthday at a family dinner.

He was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Goshen, Idaho, to Rulon V. and Lois Christensen. He graduated from Firth High School in 1951.

He married Doreen Crofts on Feb. 26, 1953, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Idaho Falls Temple.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He attended Brigham Young University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree.

He worked in the Idaho Falls School District for one year and three years as a therapist in the Easter Seals clinic. He spent 23 years at Weber Basin Job Corps in Ogden and drove a school bus for the Weber County School District for 16 years.

Active in the LDS Church, he served in many positions. He and his wife served two missions and also served in the temple. He currently serves as a host at the LDS Church Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

Their children and spouses are James and Vali Christensen, Maryann and David Anderson, and David Christensen. Deceased: Susan Christensen, Gordon Ray Christensen, Larry Christensen and Gary Christensen. He has 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
