Daryl and Donnel Thomson of Victor, Idaho, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Nichole Thomson, to Albert John Barnett, the son of MaryAnn Allgood-Barnett of Morgan, Utah and Robin Arthur Barnett, of Weston, Idaho. Ashley is the granddaughter of Lavar and Rebecca Powell of Rexburg, Idaho and Roy and Karen Thomson of Blackfoot, Idaho. Albert is the grandson of the late Glen and JoAnn Allgood of Morgan, Utah and Jerry and Ardith Barnett of Ogden, Utah.

Ashley lived in Newdale, Idaho until she graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in 2012. She left to attend Utah State University, in Logan, Utah with a two-year full scholarship. Ashley is majoring in English and was accepted to the Writing Fellows program in her Junior year.

Albert is from Morgan, Utah and graduated from Morgan High School in 2008. After graduation, Albert joined the Army Reserves as a combat engineer and a year later served a two-year LDS mission in Nashville, Tennessee. Albert is majoring in psychology at Utah State University while working as a pharmacy technician in Salt Lake City.

Ashley and Albert are planning to be married in the Brigham City, Utah LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor on December 20, 2014 in Logan, at the YSA 6th Stake, 1268 N 600 E, from 2 to 4 p.m. All friends and family are invited. The couple is registered at Target and Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
