Our story began many years ago in two separate states. Jessica, daughter of Ben and Rebecca Whitmer, was reared in Stockton, California. While attending high school she excelled in sports, especially volleyball and played the clarinet in the high school band. She graduated from Lincoln High School and L.D.S. Seminary. After graduation she furthered her education at BYU-Idaho and attended cosmetology school at the same time. After completing her studies she returned to California to be closer to family.

John, son of Shauna and Kim Williams and Dennis and Maxine Jones, grew up in Washington Terrace, Utah. While in high school he did track and field and lettered in wrestling, lacrosse and football. He graduated from Bonneville High School and L.D.S. Seminary. After graduating he went to live with his sister in Elk Grove, California and served in the Taiwan Taipei Mission. Upon release from his mission he returned to California to begin his education.

It was in Elk Grove, California that a Utah boy and a California girl found each other and their lives began together. They were married on Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Sacramento, California Temple. There was a reception later that evening in their honor. On Wednesday, July 30, 2014 there will be an open house at the Riverdale Stake Center bowery, located at 4000 S. Parker Drive from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come and celebrate with the new couple that night.

After their honeymoon they will continue to live in Elk Grove. John is a manager of a Smog N Go shop and is attending American River College. Jessica is a beautician at All About You Salon and helps out at the local high school with hair and makeup for their plays.
