Pamela Clark Vanderwood
Pamela Clark Vanderwood
August 28, 1947 – August 8, 2021 passed away at the hospital in the early morning after a sudden illness (not Covid-19).
Pam had great parents, Joe and Joan Clark. Pam was the oldest of four siblings -her brothers Steve and Tracy, passed away previously. She is survived by her sister Cathy (married to Robert), her husband Brent, her two sons, and several nieces and nephews.
Pam grew up and graduated highschool in Ogden. She married Ray Bouwhuis in 1966 and they had two sons Jason and Ryan. Ryan lives in Arizona, and Jason near Pam and Brent in Orange County. Pam and Ray divorced after 22 years together. They remained friends until Ray passed away suddenly 20 years ago.
Pam was married to Brent Vanderwood (from Malad, ID) for 26 years. Brent was introduced to Pam by her good friend, Brent’s sister Cheryl, who lived in Ogden. Cheryl saw some matchmaking potential and got them out on a blind date. Good vibes. After a few visits south Brent convinced Pam that Southern California was a nice place to live. Pam truly loved it there. She moved there with Brent in 1993, they bought a house together in Mission Viejo in 1994 and married in 1995.
Pam was a remarkable person. With her sons she was successfully a mother and a best friend. They called her Pam, not Mom, Pam. Pam’s affable personality was contagious. She had a big smile that she displayed often, and was always quick with one liners that led to interesting reactions. She made friends easily and still has many good friends in Ogden, many that she has known since high school. One of her very best friends since gradeschool in Ogden lives near her in California. Pam was an original, one-of-a-kind, irreplacable.
