Carole and Gary Farnsworth

Gary and Carole Farnsworth of Layton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Caribbean. After returning, they celebrated at a gathering with children, their spouses and grandchildren.

They were married on May 29, 1962 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.

He was born April 23, 1936, to Norman W. and Hermoine Farnsworth. He grew up in Santa Monica, Calif. At age 19, he served a two-year LDS mission to Australia. Upon returning, he attended Brigham Young University where he met Carole. He graduated from BYU and went on to receive a master’s degree from the University of Utah. He taught at James E. Moss Elementary School in Murray for 32 years.

She was born March 2, 1939, to Charles and Violet Clynick. She grew up in Detroit, where she attended high school and became a member of the debate team and a cheerleader. She graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree. In 2001, she retired from a Salt Lake City law firm.

They spend their time traveling the world, gardening, serving in their church and supporting their 22 grandchildren in their various activities.

Their children, all of Davis County, are Wendy and Mike Kuehn, Randy and Stephanie Farnsworth, Cari and Andrew Judkins, Heidi and Rob Wallis, Emily and Van Allen, Kim Farnsworth, and Jeremy and KayeLynn Farnsworth.
