Grant grew up in Layton, UT. Marlene grew up in Ogden, UT. They were high school sweethearts and were married on March 28, 1958, in the Logan, UT LDS Temple. They have four children: Scott, Lauri, Jeff and Bryan.

Grant enjoys the outdoors and can fix/repair just about anything. Marlene enjoys taking treats and visiting her special friends in her neighborhood, she also takes good care of Grant and the family.

Together, they have been devout members of the LDS church and served in a wide variety of callings from Bishop to the Primary. They have enjoyed supporting their grandkids and great-grandkids in every event under the sun. They have 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
