Jean is from Clearfield, Utah. She is a graduate of Davis High School and Stevens-Henager Business College.

They met at church shortly after Jean returned from serving an LDS mission in Florida. Neil and Jean have been faithful members of the LDS Church in all they have been asked to do. Together they served a proselyting mission in the Oregon Portland Mission. They lived in Tillamook, Oregon, for the duration of their 18-month mission.

Neil and Jean have lived in Clinton, Utah, for 46 years. They also spent three years living in Spain, where Neil accepted civilian employment with the Air Force. Keeping up with the grandkids activities is now their priority.

They celebrated their anniversary with a family dinner at the Elements Restaurant in Logan. Their children are: Lisa (Scott) Hughes, Stacy (Curtis) Yorgason, Jill (Jason) Potokar, and Ryan – deceased. They have nine grandchildren.
