Happy 70th Anniversary!: Bob and Joy Toyn

By Staff | Aug 5, 2018

Former Huntsville residents, Bob and Joy Toyn, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary, August 14, 2018. A gathering in their honor will be held August 11, 2018.

Bob and Joy lived in Huntsville for 30 plus years. Bob taught fourth, fifth and sixth grades at Valley Elementary where he retired after 27 years of teaching. Together, Bob and Joy owned Toyn’s High Valley Nursery for over two decades. Their plants were uniquely suited to thrive in the Valley’s short growing season. Joy’s geraniums were especially popular, with many customers traveling over 100 miles just to purchase these hearty, beautiful flowers.

Together they served two missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2001, they served in Nauvoo, Illinois, during the construction of the historic LDS Temple. They also served in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area.

Bob and Joy raised six children: Deborah (deceased), Diane (Brad) Nelson, Rob (Marci) Toyn, Kevin (Janice) Toyn, Lynette Williams, and Gary (Danita) Toyn. They have 19 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren with more on the way.

Please join the Toyn family in a special celebration of Bob and Joy’s marriage held in their honor Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 3 to 5 p.m. at their home located at 129 West 1820 South in Perry, Utah. All are welcome to stop by and visit with Bob and Joy. A light luncheon will be served.

Please, no gifts.
