Happy 60th Anniversary!: Mr. Carter and Mrs. Carter

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Carter celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary recently at a get-together with out of town guests, at a dance at Northview Center and at a dinner for two at the Maddox restaurant.

Mr. Carter graduated from University of Nebraska in Mechanical Engineering, earned Masters in ME at USU, a PE License. He worked at McDonnell Aircraft for five years including two years at Redstone Arsenal in the U.S. Army. He retired from Thiokol.

Mrs. Carter graduated from Fontbonne College/ University in Economics, and in Transportation and Traffic management at Washington University in Saint Louis. She worked for Dodge Moving and Storage and United Van Lines before moving to Utah. She manages the family investments.

The Carters have participated in the Summer, Winter and Senior games in 5 and 10 K runs, Archery, cross country and downhill skiing, ski archery and figure skating freestyle and ice dance.

They belong to two dance clubs, and enjoy dancing at the Northview center. They competed for three years earning plaques and other prizes.

She started the Rental Property Association which later became the Northern Utah Apartment Association. She retired from managing rentals.

They are parents of Lee Carter Jr., a graduate of the University of Texas Arlington, and Anne Carter Shirey, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is married to Robert E. Shirey PhD. They are Grandparents of Ben Shirey, Alex Shirey, and Elizabeth Shirey.
