Happy 50th Anniversary!: Robert (Bob) and Julie McKinstry

By Reader Submitted - | Jun 24, 2018

Robert (Bob) and Julie McKinstry of Syracuse, Utah, are celebrating 50 years of marriage, memories of their time together and raising a family.

They were married on June 14, 1968, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they continue to be a blessing to their four wonderful children and 22 beautiful grandchildren.

Bob retired from the Kmart Corporation after 35 years and the IRS after 10 years. Julie retired early from Macy’s after more than 20 years in retail. Shortly after Bob’s retirement in 2014, they served a one-year LDS Church mission assigned to Columbia, SC.

They developed many wonderful relationships while serving the people of South Carolina. Shortly after returning they began serving together in the Ogden LDS Temple and continue to enjoy various church callings.

Bob grew up in Washington Terrace, Utah, and Julie grew up in Roy, Utah. They met as students while attending Bonneville High School prior to Roy High School being built, at which time, Julie moved schools to become part of the first graduating class.

As many people can attest, Bob and Julie are very social. Throughout their careers, church responsibilities and interactions with neighbors, they have developed and are blessed with many countless friends and associations.

Their children are: Ryan and Anne McKinstry of Virginia; Lisa and David Cockerham of Utah; Nate and Jill McKinstry of Maryland; and Rachel and Harvey Dahl of Minnesota.

Bob and Julie wish to invite you to join them in celebrating this wonderful accomplishment during an Open House to be held on July 1, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at their home, 2117 West 2375 South, in Syracuse. No gifts please.
