Happy 68th Anniversary!: Blaine and June Thurgood
Blaine and June Thurgood of West Point celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2018. Their children hosted a luncheon for them.
They were married on November 14, 1950, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Shortly after they were married Blaine enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean War. After he completed basic training June accompanied him while he was stationed in Texas and New York, where they had many memorable experiences and made many friends. But they were happy when Blaine’s service ended so they could return home to Utah.
Other than their time in the Air Force they have been life time residents of West Point, where they raised their five children. They have been active in LDS Church service all of their lives and have served in many ward and stake capacities.
They enjoy spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and are grateful that most of them live close. They also cherish their association with a special group of friends who have been together for many years. Blaine and June have also enjoyed sports and traveling, especially their LDS Church History Tour and their many trips to Hawaii.
Their children are: Terrie Ann Reedy of West Jordan, Ralene (Dennis) Montgomery of West Point, Val (Terri) Thurgood of West Point, Drew Thurgood of Ogden, and Holly Thurgood of West Point. They have nine grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
