Happy 70th Anniversary!: Lamar and Rosella Paice

By Staff | Oct 14, 2018

Lamar and Rosella Paice celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on October 7, 2018.

Lamar was born in West Point on January 2, 1927, to Raymond and Florence Paice. He served in the Army during World War II and returned to work at Hill Air Force Base until his retirement. Rosella was born in Hooper on September 25, 1929, to George and Ethel Hunt. She studied at Weber State College, was a homemaker, and worked at Clinton Nursery. They are lifelong members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a teenager Lamar attended weekly dances in Hooper where he met Rosella. After his military service, he won Rosella’s heart and the two were married in 1948, in the Salt Lake Temple.

They lived in West Point for 55 years. There they raised their children, and built a life together. They enjoyed dancing for over 40 years, serving as dance directors in the West Point Ward and as members of several square dancing clubs.

Lamar enjoys caring for his horses, camping and fishing. Rosella’s interests include crocheting, camping, reading, and spending time with her family.

Lamar and Rosella raised four children: Steven Paice (Laurie Stephens) of Hooper; David Paice (the late LaTrisha Paice) also of Hooper; Joan Barker (Larry) of West Point; and Lisa Shumway (Adam), of Syracuse. They now live in Hooper where they enjoy frequent visits from their children, 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
