Happy 65th Anniversary!: Orlin and Billie Smith

Orlin and Billie Smith were married on September 18, 1953, by Bishop Leo Hurst in Ogden, Utah.

Orlin graduated from Bear River High School in 1948, and received his Associate’s degree from Weber State. He worked at HAFB and retired in 1985. Orlin served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952. Billie graduated from Ogden High in 1954, and worked for the American food store and retired from Ben Lomond Lanes in 2010. Together they owned nine rental properties.

They were sealed in the Logan Temple on June 28, 1963. From 1965 to 1983 they were foster parents to 161 children.

Orlin enjoyed flying his airplanes and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a member of the Weber County Search and Rescue. Billie was an avid bowler and traveled to many National Bowling Tournaments. She was a secretary in many bowling leagues. Together they enjoy traveling and camping with their family.

Orlin was the High Priest Secretary for the church. Billie was a counselor in the Relief Society and in the Primary Presidency.

They have been blessed with five Children: Michael (deceased), Nancy Smith, Bobbi (Steve) Mani, Stanley (Shauna) Smith, Katherine (Steve) Thompson and Nasia Smith. They have 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
