May 24 1959, Anna and Kees and their nine children: Maria, Gerry, Bart, Josey, Wim, Elly, Tilly, Nettie, AnneMieke immigrated from Tilburg, Nederland to the United States of America.

A 10 day cruise on the SS Waterman and a long train ride from New York, NY, we arrived on June 6th at the Ogden Union Station. Fr. Louis Kern of St. Mary’s Church sponsored us and welcomed us after a long journey to start a new life.

With the help of extended family members we started our new life. As they say it takes a village to build new lives and homes. It took great courage and determination for our parents to make better lives for all of us.
