Maurice Gene Leckington and Janet Olsen Leckington are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, March 16, 2019, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Clearfield 4th Ward building at 838 E. 600 So., Clearfeld, UT.

Janet grew up in Roy, UT, and graduated from Roy High School in 1967. She then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake where she received an Associate’s degree as an Executive Secretary.

She worked as a secretary for Fluidics, Inc. in Salt Lake. She married Maurice on the 14th of March, 1969, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Maurice grew up in Newton, KS. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1959, and went on a mission to the Northwestern States. He was drafted to the army in 1966. He then came to LDS Business College where he met Janet. He received an Associate’s degree in Computer Technology and then went to Weber State College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1977.

They moved to Ogden in 1972, then moved to Clearfield in 1980, where they still reside. They had five children. Mike, Seattle WA; Tracey (Jeremy) Jackson, Layton UT; Tyler, Centerville UT; Lisa, West Valley UT; Eric (Krystle), Hemet CA. They have 25 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

They both worked at Hill AFB until they retired in 2001. Maurice worked in computers and Janet was a secretary.

They enjoy spending time with their family, going to concerts and plays, and camping with the Over the Hill Sam’s club. Janet raised guide dogs for the blind, loves to bowl, quilt, and knit and many other hobbies. Maurice manages apartments, enjoys genealogy and is volunteering with AARP to do taxes.
