Happy 90th Birthday!: Connie Waite

Connie Waite of Clinton, Utah, will celebrate her 90th birthday at an Open House on Saturday February 9, from 2-4 p.m. at the Clearfield 3rd Ward, 231 E. 300 N. Clearfield. Family and friends may greet her on this occasion. No gifts please.

Born February 10, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Ted and Aurelia (Knowles) LeBaron. She married Kay Irving Waite on October 24, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and Kay celebrated 66 years together before he passed away in 2014.

Active in the LDS Church she served in leadership positions in the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women’s organization. She and her husband served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake and together they served as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple for 10 years. She is an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

In 1978 she retired from Hill Air Force Base after working there for 21 years. Her interests include reading, traveling, and writing stories and poetry. As a member of Articulate Communicators she won several awards in public speaking.

Her children and spouses are Linda & Blair Nelson of West Valley City, Ruth & John Egbert of Clearfield, Julie & Willy Elliott of Byers, Colorado, and Lani & Layne Cook of Blackfoot, Idaho. She has 20 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren.
